McDonald’s Greenbelt branch recently transformed into a cozy pocket concert venue as pop-rock princess Kitchie Nadal debuts the new McDonald’s Love Ko ‘To Song.
Kitchie, together with her band, performed the brand new Love Ko ‘To anthem live for the very first time before the jam-packed party area filled with McDonald’s media friends, curious customers and fans of the lady rocker.
“We are very excited about Kitchie’s new twist on the McDonald’s Love Ko ‘To signature song. Kitchie has the wholesome appeal and likeability to attract our target demographic that includes teens, young adults and even kids,” said Margot Torres, McDonald’s vice president for marketing.
The live mini-concert first saw Kitchie perform eight of her most popular songs, including smash hits like Same Ground, Bulong and her phenomenal chart topping single Wag na Wag Mong Sasabihin.
Kitchie’s ‘live at McDo’ performance reached fever pitch as she performed the McDonald’s Love Ko ‘To song.
According to Kitchie, the song articulates her personality and relationship with her fans. She was so amazed by how everything went.
“Unbelievable! I didn’t think we were gonna pull it off but we did!” exclaimed an ecstatic Kitchie after her initial McDonald’s Love Ko ‘To performance. “I think [the audience] was a bit surprised because my version had a lighter, pop-rock vibe to it,” she added.
More ambitious than the regular jingle, Kitchie’s new McDonald’s Love Ko ‘To Song is a firm departure from the version previously rendered by American Idol finalist Jasmine Trias.
From a rousing ballad, Kitchie transforms the song into an edgier, pop-infused number with solid rock n’ roll hooks, up-tempo beats and guitar-driven melody. She brings down the house with her invigorating “papara-pa-pa love ko ‘to” rendition.
Kitchie’s co-lyricist Ray Tiempo, an advertising copywriter, discloses that the new version was inspired by Kitchie’s grounded approach to fame, success and her life. Because despite her countless awards, sold out gigs and platinum records, she remains very accessible and surprisingly normal.
Aside from being the new voice of McDonald’s, the alternative goddess is also rocking to the crispy and zesty goodness of McDonald’s Twister Fries.
The full-length version of the McDonald’s “Love Ko ‘To” song can be heard on the radio and in all 250 McDonald’s restaurants. In Metro Cebu, they’re at Jones-Fuente, JY Square Lahug, Cebu South Road, Colon, SM City Cebu, Ayala Center Cebu and Mactan.
It will be part of Kitchie’s follow up to her self-titled debut album. The McDonald’s Love Ko ‘To CD which includes the original track, minus one and acoustic version will also be available in record stores soon.

Having found her niche in the local music industry in more than two years now, Kitchie Nadal’s popularity has embraced all generations, even the younger set of pop rock music buffs. She went solo, which very few artists cannot do successfully. She was once a part of the alternative rock band Mojofly but left it in May of 2003 to pursue her studies. Hundreds of fans were left heartbroken with this decision. During this time, she wrote her solo songs “Deliverance”, “Run” and “Same Ground” which instantaneously found their way to radio hit charts and major label compilations.
Re-surfacing in June 2003 as a solo artist, Kitchie is pleased that her own brand of music has found a meaningful outlet. She sent demo tapes of her compositions to NU 107 and the response was great. Within a matter of weeks, her career blossomed, thanks to her handlers Tommy Tanchanco and Rocca Cruz.
In October 2004 she came out with her solo album, which she wrote and co-produced. Bound by dreams, faith, and innate talent, Kitchie’s album has surely become a pop rock favorite in the local OPM scene. The album recently picked up a Double Platinum Record Award selling more than 60,000 copies on the strength of its carrier single, “Wag Na Wag Mong Sasabihin”, which was simultaneously chosen as theme song of a popular chinovela “Lovers In Paris.” This turn of events has made Kitchie one of the most sought-after performers nationwide.
Kitchie Nadal recently won two awards at PARI’s 18th Awit Awards: ‘Best Performance by a Female Recording Artist’ and ‘Best Ballad’ (both for her composition “Wag Na Wag Mong Sasabihin”). She was also nominated in three categories in MTV Philippines’ People’s Choice Awards namely, Favorite New Artist, Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Song (for Wag na Wag Mong Sasabihin).
This year, she is also the recipient of two awards in the 18th Aliw Awards namely, Best Performance in an Intimate Venue and Most Promising Entertainer, female category.
And as her career continues to soar, Kitchie is now busy working on a repack of her self-titled album to be released as Kitchie Nadal Limited Edition, containing the acoustic version of Wag na Wag Mong Sasabihin, her cover version of Orient Pearl’s Pagsubok, and the new song Pangarap Ka.
Not resting on her laurels yet, Kitchie continues to dominate the local concert scene via a series of shows at the city’s newest venue SM Live. Adding up to Maxi-media’s programming of top quality concert called “On Centerstage”, Kitchie will surely captivate her followers with her signature hits.
Kitchie will showcase her musical prowess as she performs in a concert dubbed as “Kitchie Nadal “Same Ground” Live In Concert on August 13 at SM Megamall Cinema 10, on August 19 at SM Manila Cinema 4 and on August 20 at SM North Edsa Cinema 1.

RAVIN’ FACTS By Jennifer Ong (The Philippine Star) Updated October 14, 2005 12:00 AM
There are some things that we have just grown to love. For some, it’s a glorious sunny day, a soothing massage or a relaxing day. For others, it’s a delicious slice of cake, a nice cup of coffee or a delectable box of chocolates. Then again, for some other people, it’s simply going to McDonald’s. Maybe McDonald’s has been doing something right all this time.
McDonald’s hot debut in 1954 was the result of a formidable partnership between salesman Raymond Albert Kroc and brothers Dick and Mac McDonald. This dream team sparked off an unstoppable McDonald’s phenomenon in the United States. When Ray Kroc opened a McDonald’s restaurant in Des Plaines, Illinois, it earned a first-day revenue of $366.12, quite a hefty amount at that time. Even heftier was the value placed on this food establishment back in 1965 when it first appeared in Wall Street. Then, a stock share amounted to $2,250. McDonald’s just kept getting bigger and bigger and in 1985, the company found itself among the 30-company Dow Jones Industrial Average.
At present, McDonald’s is reportedly the pioneer of food service retailing all over the world. This fast-food giant has put up its golden arches in over 100 countries, serving as many as 47 million customers a day. That’s quite a lot of burgers! And how exactly do they get to serve this much? Is it really all about the burgers? Is it Ronald McDonald’s lovable and welcoming face? Is it the lure of the golden arches?
In 2003, the answer became clear. People around the world only have three words to say about McDonald’s: “I’m lovin’ it!” This campaign expression was the result of a brainstorming competition among a number of McDonald’s leading international advertising agencies. One of these was Heye & Partner from Unterhaching, Germany who came up with the catchy three-word tagline.
This new campaign slogan made it clear that whichever part of the world you’re from, you have something in common with everyone else all over the globe: McDonald’s, but of course! As you might have expected, the same thing goes for the Philippines.
For Filipinos to get a better grasp of the all-new marketing campaign of McDonald’s, McDonald’s Philippines decided it was best to translate the tagline into our language. The result is another catchy three-word campaign, “Love ko ’to.”
While in the US, the McDonald’s campaign was led by award-winning artist Justin Timberlake, the Filipino McDonald’s campaign got a little help from Filipino “American Idol” Jasmine Trias. The campaign’s going stronger than ever. This year, Filipinos still love McDonald’s and helping express this love is one of the country’s hottest female artists today, Kitchie Nadal.
The 24-year-old Kitchie Nadal is a well-loved goddess of alternative rock. With a guitar in one hand and a pen in the other, this remarkable young woman has composed a number of unforgettable songs that are enjoying a well-deserved success in the airwaves today.
Kitchie has also completed a double major course of Psychology and Education at the De La Salle University. As you can tell, this readiness to work hard and strive for the best is also reflected in the artistic career that she has clearly nurtured equally well.
Kitchi’s album has already sold more than 60,000 copies, taking it straight to a double platinum status. At the recent 18th Awit Awards, Kitchie also claimed awards for Best Performance by a Female Recording Artist and Best Ballad for her hit song Wag na Wag Mong Sasabihin. More, she was named the Nickelodeon Channel’s Pinoy Wannabe Kids Choice Awards. Kitchie went on to claim two Aliw Awards: Best Female Concert Performer in an Intimate Venue and Most Promising Entertainer. Indeed, Kitchie is on top of the music charts and very rightfully so.
Yet, Kitchie goes about her everyday life with both feet on the ground. She keeps the company of her band – Jeff de Castro on lead guitar, Aaron Cambonero on bass and Marco Guzman on drums and percussions – and she maintains a spiritual devotion to God. But certainly, she also makes time for something else that she truly loves – McDonald’s.
It’s a late afternoon when I walk into McDonald’s Greenbelt for an experience like no other. Kitchie Nadal walks straight to a makeshift center stage and treats her assorted audience to a mini-concert. Wearing a pair of denim pants with a brown belt and a hanging gold chain, a white long-sleeved top and matching tousled hair, Kitchie dishes out one rousing number after another – well-loved songs Deliverance, Same Ground, Wag na Wag Mong Sasabihin, Bulong, Run, Pangarap Ko’y Maging Isang Tulay, and, of course, Love Ko ’To.
Collaborating with lyricist Ray Tiempo who penned the earlier version of the song, Kitchie decided to give the new Love Ko ’To jingle a rock-inspired twist. At the same time, the song reflects a message that she wants to share with everyone in this part of the world. Despite her success today, she remains a simple person. Which is exactly why she declares, “I’m singing our song.”
Can’t wait to hear Kitchie’s latest song? Don’t you worry now. Just walk into your nearest McDonald’s and for sure, you’ll get to hear it. Better yet, turn on your radio and catch a serving of Kitchie’s heartwarming song.
Surely, Kitchie Nadal is all over these days sharing the love!
